As of August 1st, 2010, Mrs. Jenkins has abandoned her efforts here at TeacherTash.com and instead created a more functional and user-friendly site at TeacherWeb.com.

Mrs. Jenkins plans on allowing the domain name TeacherTash.com to lapse, thus having no further control over the site. If you would like information on Mrs. Jenkins' classroom, please visit her new site at TeacherWeb.com.

    • Project Based Learning
      • Mrs. Jenkins uses project based learning in her classroom. If you are unfamiliar with project based learning, pbl-online.org describes it best, "Project Based Learning is generally done by groups of students working together toward a common goal. Performance is assessed on an individual basis, and takes into account the quality of the product produced, the depth of content understanding demonstrated, and the contributions made to the ongoing process of project realization."

      • Project based learning (PBL) will be used in World History throughout the year as we complete our cumulative project step-by-step at the conclusion of each unit. Additionally, student progress will be measured by the mastery of individual units throughout the school year.

    • American Eagle Outfitters Foundation Scholarship
      • In early 2009 Ottawa High Renaissance was awarded a grant from The American Eagle Outfitter's Foundation. The funds from this grant are dedicated towards providing Ottawa High students who otherwise might not have the resources with the opportunity to enroll in dual credit courses through Neosho Community College.

      • Applications for the 2010-2011 school year are now available to students and parents who are interested. If your student is enrolled in dual credit courses for the upcoming school year, check out the application! The scholarship pays for a student's course tuition and books for the designated semester/year. More details are available on the application, which is due no later than Monday, August 2nd, 2010.

      • Applications are available for download on the OHS Homepage; paper copies are availiable at the district office, 416 S. Main Street.
